Little Laura's beach hat

I saw this on Lion Brand Yarn's website. I decided to make one for my little niece., who is two and half years old. She is moving away soon with her parents, so I want to make her something. I am sure she would looks so cute in it. This is such a simple and easy project. The whole hat is crocheted in one piece, and I finished it in one day! I created a wavy brim, so it is like a beach hat with more "summer" in it. I also used pink ribbons to make a flower and sewed on it. I can't wait to show it to her!

Lion Brand® Recycled Cotton (1 skein of berry color, using a US G-6/4.00 mm crochet hook)
GAUGE:
14 sc + 18 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

FLOWER:

1. Cut 4 pieces of 5-inch long ribbons. Fold the ends to the center, overlapping half inch at the center. Sew one stitch to fasten. Sew on the next piece of ribbons until 4 pieces form a flower.
2. Sew the flower onto the hat with a button.

Note: You can increase rounds or use a bigger size crochet hook to make an adult size, about 22-23 inch/56-58 cm circumference.

I also made one for my twins. The brims is narrower.
